Turning Services

Our CNC turning ability at Elge Precision Machining, Inc. allows us to produce complex precision components in any production volume. We machine stainless steel, steel, aluminum, and many other metals as well as plastic, including nylon and Delrin. CNC lathes are capable of turning round parts up to 2” in diameter and parts with a hexagonal cross section up to 1.750” in diameter. Live tooling allows multiple machining processes to be performed in a single set up. Machining capabilities include tapping, threading, drilling, cross drilling, and grooving.

As a result of this versatility, CNC turning is ideal for a wide range of applications including custom fasteners, couplings, and electronic fittings. After machining, parts can be tumbled, cleaned, and plated to customer specifications as required. Assembly and packaging are also offered as value added services. To ensure parts are always available, custom stocking programs can be created. These programs include, but are not limited to, JIT shipping, Kanban bin systems, and scheduled releases. The standard turnaround time on a project is 3 to 4 weeks, but expedited production and shipping services are available to assist customers as needed.
